I keep a nail brush handy in my studio. After an application of
pigment (using the regular maru bake brush) with an abnormally large
amount of paste added, I sometimes drag the nail brush through the
applied pigment to create strong lines in the finished print.

Welcome Aleksander. Your English is just fine. I also admire the work
of Wayne Crothers. I've had trouble finding much information about
him online, though, and it's difficult to figure out how he creates
the effects he achieves. Thanks for introducing me to the work of
Wladyslaw Skoczylas. I had never seen it before.

best,

I loved watching the Daniel Kelly video--thanks for sharing, Barbara. Maybe
I missed it, but how did they register the shaped paper?

A great video. Loved the dogs. How do they keep dog hair out of everything? Highfire was magical to watch, but I know I missed so much. I'll have to watch it again. Thanx.

I think they were registering it to the mylar sheet that was taped down, once
they got it figured out, they laid it down and lifted one end at a tine to ink
and print...I am guessing that is how they did it. Some heavy paper, wasn't
it???

Hello all,

I finished an exchange/collaboration project, please see my blog
http://1000woodcuts.blogspot.com

I need a title! Perhaps some of you are not familiar with my "games", I have
had Baren members name a dog and two other prints so far.

To entice you to think, I will send a fresh print to the "winner" of the
game. I have to deliver these Monday so this week is it for naming rights.

How to play:

1. Go to the blog http://1000woodcuts.blogspot.com and for more info
on the project go to http://geographicaldivides.blogspot.com

2. Leave a comment with a proposed name for the print; alternatively,
email me directly or through Baren

3. I choose the winner after, oh, say this Friday

4. Winner gets a proof, if I choose a combination of two names or a
derivative of one name, winner(s) still gets a print. If more than two
people pick a suitable name, I'm in deep doo-doo cuz I don't have that many
proofs, it being a suicide print, but I'll think of something.

Ready, set, GO!

Maria

Everclear grain alcohol. You can add it to WC for faster drying, clean camera
lenses and other gear with it, use it in compounding photographic chemistries,
including film cleaner, clean-up shellac, and excess epoxy overruns/sticky
hands.

SURE Eli. tch tch. "cleaning" indeed.hic hic!

Just kidding. Great idea.

I have a box of kiddie Crayola crayons I use to explore color combinations,
a Guttenberg press replica pencil sharpener, a set of rubber blankets from a
graphic shop to use with my bottle-jack press, a bottle-jack press (along
with a letter-press, proofing press and two book presses for drying paper
flat), three kitty trees for the kitties who still prefer my spotless inking
slab for laying down for a nap, a piece of carpet for unrolling and weighing
down roll paper.and five thousand other things that are SCREAMING to get
listed on eBay one of these days under my very appropriate ID
"cleanedmystudio". Phew.
