Andrew,
Your sizing project is very interesting. I have had difficulty with
Japanese paper reacting poorly to moisture. I am sure this is
non-traditional, but would it make sense to lay the paper down on something
flat like a sheet of plexi and let it dry stuck down... I know that when
they make Japanese paper they let them dry stuck to boards. And it seemed
like flatness was your primary issue.

I posted on my blog - not sure why it didn't get picked up. But anyway - check out the pictures, etc. of the opening of
'women with a(rt) purpose' at 515 Gallery in Clare Michigan.
For a town of under 4,000 they had over 200 people attend and I sold 6 prints!
The gallery is run by the high school Gallery Management Class.

Re: dragon exchange - I think doing the small dragon prints will be a relief after working on some larger ones. They will be
ones that arrive "throughout the year" in your mailbox.

Subject: Mystique Series #18 : key done, and colours coming
Posted by: Dave Bull

The carving on the keyblock was done a few days ago, but other things intervened for a while, and it is only today that I have been able to get started on the colour blocks.

Here's a quick snapshot of the finished keyblock, before washing:

He turned out pretty well I think; after it was done I took a few proofs, and then - working under a strong lens - touched up some of the lines in places where they were not quite what they should be ... This is not the most dense wood, and I'm working pretty much at the limit of what it will allow without breaking down.

I did the colour transfers this morning. I say 'colour', but there will be nothing more than sumi used on this print. Colour will hopefully be found in the shades that I use ...

Here are quick snaps of the five other blocks:
