David Harrison, thank you for posting this. On behalf of Baren, condolences, Joycelyn Merchant for the loss of your husband and also sympathy to the printmaking community -- especially those who knew, worked and communicated with Charles Kroon.

I am so tired I can hardly type...that Maria is a real slave driver.....
Sharri LaPierre, Terri Peat, Doug Haug, Maria, Myself, and Sharri's son Don printed up a storm for three days...
600 pieces of full sheet paper 22x30 inches and over 4 cans of black ink...Maria will be driving back to Las Vegas from Portland tomorrow and with the ink fumes probably flying without a plane....
It was a huge amount of fun and a huge amount of work. Terri came from Seattle and Doug from Colorado Springs so that was real dedication on their parts, to come so far to work like crazy.
Jane Pagliarulo of Atelier Meridian, www.ateliermeridian.com, helped a bit and loaned us the studio with its presses for this big job. The prints look pretty good, considering they were glued together to make the "city of the world" panels. We printed 120 each of 5 different assembled blocks.
Maria will post pictures and also have stuff on her blog about it. We are done and still standing, sort of...once Maria gets home, 1100 miles and two days of really intense driving, and rests up you can look for prints in the mail if you participated. As I said, I am pretty tired, but have a great feeling of accomplishment and am glad we did in three days what would have taken Maria weeks and weeks to do by herself.
We have coined a new slogan..."Printmaker Down"....wait till you see the photos!
My best to all

Oh, Barbara... Thanks so very much for the report. I envy the fellowship of all of you hardworking printmakers. It had to have been a blast. I had so wanted to go but the distance made it impossible. Thank you to all who helped Maria finish up this wonderful project.

Amazing! I can't imagine how you all made that many prints in only 3 days.
Thanks to the whole crew and to our wonderful mayor, Maria!

Here's our first 'layering' impression. The skin tone also covers part of the yellow on the umbrella, to provide a third tone ...

Here we are in a seemingly peaceful setting...working ourselves silly. Argh! Whose idea was this? Who the heck is Maria?

Seriously, we're working hard to bring everyone presents, much to do yet. Inking as fast as I can and still can't keep up with my speedy elves, Doug and Terry. At the other press, Sharri enslaved her son, Don, and Barbara inking like there's no tomorrow.

Now that I think about it, there's NO tomorrow! Been so busy 3 days have gone by.

Last picture we charmingly named, "printmaker down!" I was just stretching my back, a short-person tactic to work as fast as a tall person...
The fun continues today!!!
