Jan that made me laugh and laugh. When this came up I had wondered where I had learned to cut up spoilt prints into personal cards and note cards. It was you!

So I'm a little behind!

Exchange #50 can now be viewed in all its glory (I hope). I'm diligently
working on 51 and 52.

http://www.barenforum.org/exchange/exchanges.html

With the anniversary of Exchange #50, a new gallery format is in the works:

I changed the look of the Introduction page for the Gallery of each
exchange, eliminating the frame.

The link to the Gallery Page for viewing the prints in the exchange will
open in a new window, just click the tiny thumbnails image or the gallery
link below.

The new gallery format allows viewers to see large thumbnails and an
enlargement in the same page; just click the thumbnail on the strip and get
an enlarged view, complete with name and title. Alternatively, you can click
the "show next slide" button below the enlargement image.

If you are in a lazy mood, the slide show can be started (and stopped)
anytime by clicking the play/pause slide show button just below the
enlargement image, center button.

There is also a View Menu top left above the thumbnails which allows the
viewer to switch from Gallery View to Slide Show.

One loss with the new format is the information about each print will now
only be available by downloading the colophon. One gain is MY TIME!!!

No more building a page for each print, sorry about that folks but that just
took too long. I now just format the images, auto-add the border, add name
and title and have Photoshop build me a gallery. I sure the dickens hope I
can replicate the process because it was quick.

If anyone really really misses the print information for each print, please
let me know. If lots of people miss it, I will go back to the drawing board
and see how I can manage to include it.

Hope everyone likes the new more modern look of our galleries.

Maria

Beautiful job, Maria! I found that if I clicked on the advance arrow at the bottom of the larger screen (I think this is the "show next slide" button below the enlargement image), the images appeared much more quickly than if I clicked on the smaller image to the left. Excellent job! I don't miss having to go elsewhere for the info; I can always open another window if I need to.

Thanks!

I don't know if this will get to you but I just started receiving old Baren
digest messages at an email address that I couldn't access for a long time.
One use for scrap prints is to make books out of them if you're into
bookmaking. Just cut them up to the size of paper you need in your books.
It makes the book more interesting than blank sheets of paper.

Thanks, Maria. My vote: page per print was superior. This new update
requires flash, so I'm unable to view it at all on my iPhone. I'll check
when I get to a PC so I can actually view what you've done, but based on
your description, seems to me that print info really ought to appear with
each print (sorry)!

Thanks SO much for all your great work - you are greatly appreciated
(almost always - haha)!!

Maria -- looks and works great on PC (but doesn't work at all on
iPhone/iPad -- maybe someone knows a way around that? Also appears there's
almost enough info on each print -- the colophon.pdf provided doesn't seem
to add any information to what's displayed with the enlargement of each
print - am I missing something? I do wish the enlargements included each
printer's details (technical information provided by each printer).
Otherwise, works and looks very good!
