The Kyoto International Woodprint Association (KIWA) was officially inaugurated in the spring of 1997. Membership is open to anyone, whether they study printmaking or not. If they have a love for woodblock prints and a desire to see them exhibited periodically, they can join the Association and help make such exhibitions a reality.
Association memberships are annual, from June. The fee is 5000 yen and includes invitations to special events, lectures, New Year's card making demonstration and instruction, and participation in Workshop and Association activities.
The Association maintains a collection of prints, mostly woodblocks. This collection is available for any member to view and study.
