Comments: as a remembrance for Wanda Robertson theme-"Journies" i conjured up my step grand mother and her Boxer dog, about to journey down to Starboard Island at low tide. A chickadee gives them a rousing send off, while two Newfies are already part way there , looking back, saying- C'mon!
That is the lighter side of "how" I conceived the image-
to have something to draw/carve that would symbolize a journey. But the rest of the story, perhaps the darker, more intuitive side of my process: a woman , about to take her FINAL journey , has as her guides 3 dogs . They are ready to go NOW, but a little bird takes the time to give the woman a "song for the journey"-so she can be brave , because she led a good life. The figure of the woman takes on an almost Madonna/Virgin Mary-like stature , for some believe it is she who guides our spirit to Christ. Others believe that Dog ( which is God , backwards) guides our journey to the underworld . To Wanda-wherever and however you have journeyed-I salute you .
