Ten people, ten colours. It could mean that if you ask
the same question of ten people, you will get ten different answers.
It could also mean that the ten people themselves are ten different
colours. I think both interpretations center on how individuals are
unique, both in their outward appearance and in their understanding
of the world. In alphabet books, A is for apple is usually
illustrated with a single apple, generally all red. The apples I see
at the grocery store are yellow, green, red, brown, round, oblong;
each variety distinct in color and shape. Even within the same
variety, each individual apple is different in some way from every
other one. So I made ten apples - I hope you enjoy them.
