This image is an abstraction of the sawn off end of a
tree limb seen on the Oregon coast. The tree had fallen across a
trail and the limb was cut off to clear the passage. The limb end
then weathered and rotted over the years, soaking up rain, drying out
again, splitting apart at the seams, leaving this pattern of circular
spaces.
